Fragment Booklet

Fragment is an experimental editorial project exploring the relationship between photography, typography, and narrative. The project was developed by selecting works from a curated group of photographers and reinterpreting them through fragmentation, scale, and sequencing. Twelve photographs were selected and categorized into two groups: six manmade forms and six organic forms. Each image was tightly cropped and zoomed in to remove its original context, allowing abstract shapes, textures, and contrasts to emerge. These fragments were then arranged to create a visual story that unfolds gradually as the booklet is opened, encouraging the viewer to read the images as parts of a continuous narrative rather than isolated photographs.
Typography plays an equal role in the composition. A single typeface was chosen and treated as both text and form, responding directly to the imagery. Excerpts from “Ode to Typography” were integrated into the layout, with letterforms scaled, repeated, and positioned to echo the rhythm, movement, and structure of the images. The accordion format reinforces this interaction, allowing text and image to expand, interrupt, and align across panels.
